When hell freezes over, ice fishing enthusiasts rejoice, because they have more venues to fish and not just wait for winter when lakes become a ground. But until the world waits for hell to freeze here is a list of the best venues for ice fishing when lakes freezes over.

1. Lake Michigan Harbors – Illinois
Is this surprising? Guess not. It is not a surprise that this is one spot to go fishing during winter because lake Michigan is the most popular lake in the USA. Fishing in the ice is not only an activity for those who love to fish but also for people who want to chat with their friends; this is particularly true when ice fishing shelters are starting to be set up.

2. Higgins Lake – Michigan
So ice fishing house is not entirely safe here because the lake freezes slowly and the lake is also one of the deeper lakes in the US. However, fishing is better in deep lakes. This lake has a lot of cold water fish for you to catch.

3. Strawberry Reservoir – Utah
Again it is ideal to just bring along your fishing gear if you plan to fish here. Ice fishing shelters are not advisable here because the water has unfrozen spots.

4. Also you can go to Lake Champlain in New York
Lake trouts are abundant here. Fishing here during winter or summer season is fine. It boasts of over 400 years of history and a wonderful skyline.

6. Capsian Lake – Vermont
Not only is the lake good for ice fishing, it is also a sight to behold during sunset. The best lake trouts in Vermont is found in this lake, be it in the summer or winter or any season.

7. Cass Lake – Minnesota
Ice fishing houses are appropriate to set up here. Cass Lake brings in the pink ice fishing house by a burly man or the tent-made ice fishing shelter during the winter season.
